Well, what a brilliant day Sunday was! For those who weren't able to attend, Sunday the 7th of June saw the first ever Four Paws One Direction Picnic + Fun & Games afternoon being held at Camerton for all our doggy and human friends. And what a lovely afternoon it turned out to be! The weather was rotten in the run up to it, and the forecast wasn't great, but in the end the rain stayed off and the sun even made an appearance. Huge thanks to those of you who braved the chance of showers and came across to join in, I was delighted with the turn out and am grateful to you all for supporting us.
The Fun & Games seemed to run well, and I was proud of you all for giving everything a go, and was proud of your dogs for behaving so well. What a great bunch you are! The games were all hotly contested, with Billy & Lucy just pipping Sarah and Izzy in the Scurry run on their last attempt, and several ties in the Water Bobbing contest. The Tunnel Knockout Challenge was also well fought, and I thought that everyone who took part in this managed to pull their best performance of the day out of their dogs, so well done to everyone.
We've decided to donate all of the money taken from the small entrance fee to Irish Retriever Rescue, as well as the money taken from the donations for the cake slices, and will cover the costs of the day ourselves, so thanks for contributing. Our main fundraising event will be the Fun Dog Show in August, where we're hoping to raise a good amount for our chosen charities Irish Retriever Rescue and Valgrays Border Collie Rescue.
