Well, the money from the Dog Show has finally been counted and banked (it took a while!), and cheques for £180.25p were sent to both
Irish Retriever Rescue and
Valgrays Border Collie Rescue, so many thanks to all who contributed to this! That's not a bad effort, and I'm pretty proud of how things went! :-) We've even got a little mention on the
IRR website here... and Pauline tells me the money we donated is enough to transport two dogs in need of rescuing over from Ireland, so ever penny helps.
I'd like to do something again next year, but have concerns over the weather - the week before and after the Dog Show this year was very wet, and we were extremely lucky not to be rained off! - so a bit of thought needs to go into how to find somewhere with an indoor venue to protect us from the possibility of rain and to ensure that people want to turn up to help us raise some money! So watch this space...!
